Salvation: Where Will I Go When I Die?

If you ask yourself this question, you’re not alone. Many people struggle with it.

There are many ways people cope with this question—various religions, atheism, the old Roman adage “live today because tomorrow you die.”

There is a way for you to know where you’ll go after you die.

The Bible (2 Corinthians 5:8) says that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. I know where I’m going when I die, and you can know, too, without a doubt.

It all starts with sin.

We violate the law of God. Every time we lie—even the little white ones. Cheat. Every time we lust—when we look at that hot guy on TV and say “I would so get with that.” Every time we are proud or hate . . . not one of us is sinless (Romans 3:10).

God is sinless and just. Sin has no place with Him. But He couldn’t leave it at that.

God loved the world so much He sent His son to die.

If you believe in Him, you’ll have eternal life (John 3:16). Jesus died a horrible, gruesome death on a Roman cross, but he rose again—defeating death (Colossians 1:18:22).

You can have the same assurance I do. Just confess from your heart that Jesus is Lord, knowing He rose from the grave and is alive now.

If you believe and want to turn to Him, pray a prayer like the one below or use your own words.

Lord Jesus, I believe You died for me. Forgive me of my sins. Help me to turn from my sins and live for You. Thank You for saving me. Amen.

If you just accepted Jesus as your Lord, HALLELUJAH! Know that angels are rejoicing right this minute.

What now?

Pray. Each day. It isn’t complicated. Just talk to God like you would anyone else. He wants to hear what you have to say.

And read the Bible every day. It’s your handbook—your life’s how-to. You’ll be amazed at how much information and wisdom is in it. Get whatever version you like and get to it.

Find a good church that teaches from the Bible.

Take it one day at a time.

There are a lot of good resources to help you grow at InTouch Ministries. I listen to Dr. Charles Stanley’s sermons each week, and I always pick up new information.

I am so excited for you! 🙂

Still not sure?

I would suggest you read the following page: Freedom in Christ. You’ll find all kinds of resources for evidence on Christianity including a free e-book.

There’s also a page devoted to how much God loves you at the above site aptly named God Loves You.

I would also suggest reading the Bible. Start with John.

Seek Truth. And know that there is Truth. Every road is not okay. If you seek to find Truth with all your heart, you’ll find it.
