Mother’s Day: 10+ Sweet Messages for the Mother in Your Life {+ Free Printable}

Mothers are special. Who else sees us at our worst, encourages us to be our best, and loves us unconditionally through it all? We may not have always known how to express the appreciation our selfless mothers deserved, but this Mother’s Day let’s tell them with these sweet messages.

As a child, I was convinced I would lose my mother somehow before I reached adulthood. My mother lost hers at twelve, and so did my best friend. I was convinced it was a sign.

Every night before bed I’d tell her “I love you.” I wasn’t sure what else to say, but I didn’t want one day to go by that she didn’t know that she was appreciated. She did not pass away; I’m very glad to report that she is still with me. These days I find it important, though, to show her the enormous impact she’s made in my life.

It can be overwhelming to express all that a good mother means, but this list is a start inspired by my own one-of-a-kind mama. You’re welcome to use any of these messages to encourage your own sweet mother—whether in a card or just a text message.

I’ve also made a bookmark for you. It’ll make a great keepsake for your mom.

    I love reading those messages. It’s been a quiet Mother’s Day around here, but a good one. My youngest daughter just had a baby this week! And my oldest daughter has had 2 sick kids all week.

    What beautiful messages to say to a Mom. Thank you for sharing with Grace & Truth Link-Up. My daughter actually sent me your blog post too. It was sweet.

    For my mom, #2 was my favorite.
    #2 – YOU TAUGHT ME TO KEEP GOING EVEN WHEN IT’S HARD.

    Blessings, Maree

    These are so beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing. I have to say that #5 – THANK YOU FOR INTRODUCING ME TO JESUS is my favorite and my mom was a good and faithful servant. She taught me so much about Jesus, even though I didn’t apply her lessons until years later. Blessings.
